Eastern Kentucky University Rankings and Accreditations
A Top Ranked Higher Education
Eastern Kentucky University is regionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS*). This regional accrediting body is recognized by both the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA**) and the United States Department of Education (USDE).
Regional accreditation is a measurement the U.S. Department of Education uses to ensure that schools meet rigorous and up-to-date standards of education and professionalism. All schools must be accredited, and their curriculum must pass approval with a USDE-approved accreditation board. Because of more defined regional accreditation educational standards, credits for similar courses will usually transfer between schools.
