The College of Justice and Safety at Eastern Kentucky University has 43 full-time faculty members, 42 part-time instructors, and approximately 225 staff members which includes individuals from Eastern Kentucky University’s two research facilities. All of these hard-working professionals are dedicated to supporting students in their educational endeavors.
Meet the Eastern Kentucky University College of Justice and Safety Administrators
Dr. Allen Ault came to the College of Justice & Safety after retiring as chief of the Special Projects Division of the National Institute of Corrections, U.S. Department of Justice. He brings more than 30 years of experience in the field to his position as dean.
Larry Collins, D.Ed. is the former president of the Kentucky Safety and Health Network and the Kentucky Association of Cooperative Education and Career Placement.
Tim Matthews is currently the Director of Distance Education for the College of Justice and Safety. He provides assistance to stakeholders in maximizing the benefits of distance education.
Greg Gorbett is an instructor of the online fire degrees at EKU.
Tom Schneid is a tenured professor in the Department of Safety, Security and Emergency Management at Eastern Kentucky University.
Kim Chitwood is the Online Program Admissions Counselor for the Occupational Safety bachelor’s degree program.
Kate Johnson is the Online Admissions Counselor for the Online Graduate program in Safety, Security and Emergency Management.
Christy Templeton is the Online Program Admissions Counselor for the College of Justice and Safety.
Scotty Dunlap, D. Ed., holds a Doctorate of Education in Higher and Adult Education from the University of Memphis and an MS in Loss Prevention and Safety from Eastern Kentucky University.
