  5. Luis Lara says:

What kind of degree do you need for this master’s program?

    • csimone says:

      Hi Luis,

You need to have a bachelor’s degree in order to be able to apply for the master’s program. The bachelor’s degree does not need to be in a specific field.

      Thanks!

  6. Travis says:

Are required tests (GRE/GMAT) considered to be waived by a professional designation or certification. At some Universities, a Master’s of Safety program waives the requriements for the GRE if the applicant has a CSP (Certified Safety Profressional).

    • csimone says:

Hi Travis- we would only be able to waive the GRE/GMAT if you already have a master’s degree. Unfortunately we are not able to waive it if you just have the CSP.

  7. Chelsey says:

Do you have to have a minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 2.75 or a 3.0 GPA in the last 60 hours of the bachelor’s degree program AND a MAT score of 375 or, GRE scores of 149 verbal and 141 quantitative and an analytical writing score of at least 4.0?

Or can you have one or the other?

I have just completed my BBA from Saint Leo University which is accredited, and I graduated with honors (Cum Laude); am I still required to take the GRE to enroll in the Occupational Safety Masters Program? I also will be using my Post 9-11 GI Bill to pay for the Masters Program, can you tell me the tuition cost for the program?

    • csimone says:

Hi Michael- You are still required to either take the GRE or GMAT even though you completed your bachelor’s degree. 10. Tyler says:

Is the SSEM degree offered onsite at EKU? Also, I graduated from EKU with a BS in Criminal Justice. Do I have to provide transcripts? Finally, I am currently on Active duty orders for the National Guard and do not have time to take the GRE (Will not be back untill July and I want to start in August). Can I be granted Probationary Admission without having to take the GRE? My GPA from EKU was 3.69.

  12. MCruse says:

If you complete a graduate certificate in Safety, can the classes be used towards the online Masters degree?

    • csimone says:

Hello! If you complete EKU’s graduate certificate in Occupational Safety online, those classes can be used towards the master’s in Safety, Security and Emergency Management degree online. If you have completed the graduate certificate outside of EKU, on a case-by-case basis, a student may petition to have graduate credit from an accredited college or university counted as the equivalent of another course in the curriculum and accepted as transfer credit. If I complete my B.S. in Occupational Safety online at EKU how many more classes are there to get my Masters?

    • csimone says:

Hi Mark, they are two separate programs. So once you complete the B.S. degree you would have to apply to the master’s program separately. The master’s program in Safety, Security and Emergency Management with a concentration in Occupational Safety is 36 credit hours.

Just wondering if the GRE exam can be waived for me if I satisfy all other conditions.
