ASSE Appoints Jeff Camplin as the Vice President of Practices and Standards
The American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) has appointed Jeff Camplin as the Vice President of Practices and Standards. Jeff is a graduate of the Master of Science in Safety, Security and Emergency Management program at Eastern Kentucky University. Below is an excerpt from the press release on April 20, 2012:
“As the newly elected vice president for the council on practices and standards (COPS), Illinois’ Camplin will be responsible for the ASSE practice specialty administrators and the operations of the ASSE standards development committee. For the past 22 years he has been president of Camplin Environmental Services, Inc., a safety and environmental consulting firm based in Rosemont, IL. He holds a BS in Safety from Northern Illinois University and a Masters in Safety and Emergency Management from Eastern Kentucky University. Jeff is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), a Certified Professional Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Auditor, and a professional member of the ASSE Northern Illinois chapter. He has served two terms as administrator of the environmental practice specialty, chairs ASSE’s ‘Body of Knowledge’ committee, and is a member of the editorial review board of ASSE’s Professional Safety Journal. Camplin has received many honors from his peers including the COPS’ SPY award, the President’s award and the Charles V. Culbertson Outstanding Volunteer Service award. He also received the Outstanding Alumni award from Northern Illinois University. Camplin will succeed outgoing COPS Vice President George W. Pearson, CSP, ARM, of Richmond, VA.”
