FSE 425 – Disaster & Community Fire Defense Planning
The Disaster and Community Fire Defense Planning course examines concepts and principles of community risk assessment, planning and response to natural and man-made disasters. Students will gain an understanding of the role of the emergency manager and planner, the importance of disaster mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery, and perform and all-hazards assessment of a community. Upon completion of the course students will be able to differentiate between different levels of responsibility in emergency management from local to federal and have a working knowledge of the National Response Framework. (Prerequisite course: FSE 300)
