ERGONOMICS
The Ergonomics Concentration and Certificate programs address appropriate risk factors, current regulatory requirements as well as policy development, effective ergonomic management techniques and occupational safety program development to ensure a safe and healthful work environment for employees.
The curriculum of the Ergonomics concentration addresses efficient and effective analysis methods specifically focused on ergonomic hazards in private sector industrial environments, ergonomic related legislation and practical implementation challenges.
The dynamic field of ergonomics requires professionals to acquire a working knowledge of the various methodologies through which to conduct an ergonomic assessment, which this concentration prepares graduates to do.

Faculty Spotlight: Dr. Tom Schneid
Dr. Schneid has authored and co-authored 15 texts on various safety, fire, EMS, and legal topics as well as over 100 articles. He was named one of the "Rising Stars in Safety" by Occupational Hazards magazine in 1997 and recently awarded the Program of Distinction Fellow by the Commonwealth of Kentucky and EKU.
The Program Concentration allows graduate students to build on field-specific knowledge of their interest. The Certificate Program follows the same curriculum guidelines, offering specialized knowledge for professionals who already hold a graduate degree.
