Online Graduate Certificate in Homeland Security
Extend Your Education, Protect Our Country
As part of EKU’s online Safety, Security, & Emergency Management program, a Graduate Certificate in Homeland Security will help you expand your knowledge and skill set with an advanced understanding of the internal and external safety and security issues that currently face the United States, and the techniques we use to protect this country.
During the program, students will take an in-depth look at the Department of Homeland Security, and perform an analysis of the legislation and policies associated with homeland security, such as the Patriot Act and the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act. Examine infrastructure protection, the role of intelligence in homeland security, and examine the hazards that face our nation.
The online certificate program uses the same curriculum as Eastern Kentucky University’s online Master’s Degree program and can be completed independently of a degree program. The online Homeland Security Certificate consists of 4 courses or 12 credit hours.
