Why a Master's in Safety Security and Emergency Management?
Learn from the Leaders in the Field
Eastern Kentucky University’s pioneering Master’s Degree in Safety, Security and Emergency Management (SSEM) originally began as an on campus graduate degree program more than 35 years ago. At the time, EKU was one of the only schools in the country to offer this unique degree. Since that time our fire and safety program has continued to grow and evolve to address new issues, implement the latest technology, and stay current with the safety, security, and emergency management industries.
Today the same Safety, Security and Emergency Management degree program that is offered on campus is available as a comprehensive online program. Using a variety of multimedia tools including an extensive video collection, the online program provides students with the flexibility to pursue their master’s degree while continuing at their current job. A master’s degree from EKU is a degree you can be proud of, and even when you earn it online, it’s the same diploma you’d receive in our on campus program.
Graduates of the online Master of Science in Safety, Security and Emergency Management program leave prepared to think critically and creatively to excel in their current careers and take advantage of advancement opportunities when looking for new positions. Using the knowledge and skills gained during the safety, security and emergency management online program, and put into practice throughout their training at EKU, graduates are well equipped to bridge the communication gap to prevent, respond to and mitigate safety and security situations.
Whether you’re a current safety and security professional, looking to expand your skill set, want to take your career in a new direction, or hoping to future proof your current position with a solid education, the online Master of Science in Safety, Security and Emergency Management program can give you the knowledge you’ll need to become and remain a leader.
