Money is a vital commodity in the world in which we live. Due to the recession, more people, including teenagers, are looking for ways to meet their day-to-day needs. In the past, part-time employment was a way to improve one’s resume, save for college or buy a new car. These days, it is a necessity, especially for teens from households that fall below the average income range.

Employee health and safety is a top priority for business and government organizations alike and in the past few years it has become clear that this younger class of hourly waged workers experiences an injury every nine minutes on the job. In 2012 alone, more than 170,000 young workers were injured in the workplace and 361 were killed.
