Occupational Safety Curriculum
The curriculum for the Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to excel as a safety professional while working in a variety of different work environments. Additionally, this degree program includes a minor in Fire and Safety Engineering Technology to ensure that graduates are more valuable candidates to employers. Students will gain a fundamental understanding of fire science, and learn how to act quickly and efficiently in any emergency situation they may encounter. Students in the program will not only be competitive for a career in the safety industry they will also have an advantage over their competition by differentiating themselves with the minor is Fire and Safety Engineering Technology.
Explore occupational safety concepts and learn how to implement them. Gain perspective on safety and risk factors across different disciplines including safety, health and security. Study the role of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, their rules, regulations and enforcement policy. Learn to identify and analyze potential workplace hazards, infractions, and risks. Discover new ways to keep workers safe, and design and implement corrective safety measures. Immediately put theory into practice in your current career to create a safer workplace while securing your career as an occupational safety professional.
