FSE 300W – Technical Report Writing for Emergency Services

Correct documentation and reporting of fire and safety matters is an essential element of the fire science industry. This course is designed to help students develop the oral and written communication skills specific to the public emergency services sector. Students will design, develop, and present information using a variety of appropriate media choices. Learn to prepare materials designed to increase support in community forums, develop accurate documentation, review incident reports, develop a range of technical reports, and prepare documents for emergency services grant proposals. Other writing formats covered include: accident and emergency scene report, in-house memos, articles, proposals, and additional written reports.
